You’ll find Dubuque is a contemporary city with Victorian charm. Dubuque
is the seventh largest city in the state of Iowa, yet it features
a small-town’s warmth, friendliness, and freedom from hassles. Situated
in a beautiful, natural location along the Mississippi River, Dubuque
is known for its steep hills and river bluffs. In fact, because of
its hills and Victorian mansions, Dubuque is sometimes compared to
San Francisco.
Sundown Mountain is just west of Dubuque,
Iowa, a major tourism community. It has riverboat casinos, art and
river museums, a symphony orchestra, live theaters, movies, 1,400
overnight accommodations, 100 restaurants, and great after-dinner
entertainment.
