Competition Format
6 vs. 6. Play will consist of pool play. Pool
play will be followed by a single elimination tournament.
The number of teams advancing to the
single elimination tournament will be determined by
the number of teams in the tournament.
Game length will consist of
start/stop clock with two 18 minute halves.
Halftime is a maximum of five minutes.
Officiating
Each team is required to officiate
and run the score clock. Teams
will be responsible for officiating
games when not scheduled to play.
An officiating schedule will be provided
with the game schedule.
Teams will be subject to forfeiture for
failing to meet this requirement.
An officiating clinic will take place
prior to the tournament starting.
Time will be listed on the schedule.
Rules
Current
USA Broomball rules will be used
with Iowa Games modifications.
Keep checking this Web site for Iowa
Games rule modifications.
Helmets are required. Only
commercially produced hockey helmets
will be allowed. No bicycle or
football helmets allowed.
Roster
A team can have
a minimum of 6 players and maximum of 17 players. A player can only appear on one
team roster. Teams maybe male, female or coed.
Age Determining Date
January 23, 2009
Minimum age is 18.
Player I.D.
Should there be any questions on
player eligibility, coaches
should have available copies of players' IDs (school photos,
driving permits, birth certificates, etc.) at each game.
Roster Changes
Postmark deadline: January 14
Online Deadline: January 19
Roster changes may be made at no additional charge and must
be postmarked by January 14.
Teams that originally register online may make roster
changes online until January 19. New players and/or replacement players
must complete an
Individual
Entry Form and the waiver must be signed. For replacement
players, please indicate which player they are replacing.
Roster limits will be enforced.
Coaches who register

allowed to make roster changes

Uniforms
Teams are asked to have matching
colored shirts with numbers at least on
the back.
Equipment
Goals will be provided. Teams
are required to provide their own sticks
and a game ball. Helmets are
required.
