Cross Country Skiing

dubuque has plenty of snow! Cross country skiing will remain as scheduled!

Competition Format

Events are classical style (diagonal technique - in the track skiing only) and freestyle events (includes skating techniques). Mass starts by age group. The winner in each division will be determined by the athlete who completes the course in the shortest amount of time. 

RULES

USSA and FIS rules will apply.

Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age/event class.

SITE

Mines of Spain State Recreation Area, Dubuque (located south of Dubuque at HWY 61/151 and HWY 52).  This is a safe, but technically difficult course that will challenge a skier. Entrants should have the minimum skills to safely climb, ski down, stop, or  turn on hills.
