Competition Format
7 versus 7. Games played to 9 points during round robin play, but may be played up to 13 in the playoffs. At the time-cap teams will complete the point they are on; if there is a tie, one more point will be played. Tournament will be round robin pool play followed by a single elimination tournament to determine medal winners. All teams will qualify for some level of single-elimination playoffs. Men and women play in the same division. 20 player roster limit will be enforced (no gender requirements). Teams must rank themselves from 1 to 10 with 1 being noncompetitive and 10 being most competitive on the entry form. Please use the following as guidelines when considering your team’s self-ranking.
8-10: Most of the team (>50%) has played on UPA college and/or club teams
5-7: Most of the team (>50%) has played in summer leagues, intramural teams, and/or high school teams
3-4: Most of the team (>50%) has played in at least one tournament/Iowa Games
1-2: Most of the team (>50%) has never played any organized Ultimate before
Rules
Ultimate Players Association (UPA) rules will apply. As always, Spirit of the Game should prevail for both players and spectators. Teams are responsible for their spectators. The Ultimate director and committee reserve the right to eject teams and/or their spectators if they do not follow the Spirit of the Game.
